We are a specialist national company dealing with both personal injury and loss of earnings for applicants, who have made, or who intend making, a claim for compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).

Home

We provide information, guidance and representation to claimants getting involved at any stage from initial application, through to appeals panel advocacy and settling the claim.

The CICA do not pay for the claimants' cost of advice, so we operate on an authentic NO WIN, NO FEE * basis.

PERSONAL INJURY
Claims for personal injury are assessed on the severity of the injuries and a tariff applies, starting at the minimum of £1,000 (e.g. for a sprained ankle involving disablement for 6-13 weeks) going up to £250,000 as a maximum.

LOSS OF EARNINGS AND SPECIAL EXPENSES
Any victim incapacitated from working for over 28 weeks, following a criminal assault, may also claim for their loss of earnings from the 29th week. Compensation may also be payable for Special Expenses.

FATALITIES
Qualifying relatives and remaining dependants (including children) may also make claims for loss.

IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING THE RULES
There are rules relating to time limits (normally 2 years), providing information, eligibility, plus applicants' actions, conduct, and character. The CICA paid out over £185m in 2004/05 to victims of criminal assaults. During the year over 66,000 applications were made with awards to over 35,000 individuals, but a similar number failed. Many failures might, with appropriate help or assistance, have been avoided.

OUR SERVICE
We help claimants receive the award that is appropriate for their injury and the particular incident by providing useful information and dealing personally with the complex issues involved in significant claims, utilising specialist accountancy where appropriate. We maintain confidentiality at all times.

NOTE
The comments on this website are an overview and are not intended to give a definitive view on individual circumstances.

We will respond if you send us a completed Information for Claims Processing questionnaire and we believe we can help - or you may prefer to phone our information line for assistance.
